RNA-seq is exceptionally advantageous at discovering structural variants. However, for the required sensitivity of finding single nucleotide variants and indels, we have initiated Project Dust.
Project Dust is aimed to evolve into a state-of-the-art analysis pipeline that uses a deep neural network to call genetic variants from next-generation RNA sequencing data. At Molecs, we sincerely care about Project Dust to increase the accuracy of Project Mercury.
